Job Purpose Statement

Provide employee relations (ER) support to HR Business Partners and leaders across the EMEA region for the Columbia Threadneedle (Asset Management) business unit.

Advise, guide and provide case management support on all ER matters leveraging a strong workingknowledge of employment law and related processes.

Take ownership for ER policies and procedures, reviewing them regularly and seeking continuously to improve them. Share knowledge with and actively provide learning opportunities for HR colleagues and leaders.
Contribute, as part of a collaborative team, to a variety of HR activities and projects, providing ER expertise.

Role Responsibilities

How you'll spend your time
:


  • Provide trusted advice to HR colleagues and leaders on a wide range of sensitive employee relations matters such as performance, absence, conflict resolution, flexible working, disciplinary action, terminations, grievances and other issues presenting riskto the organisation.
  • Track and manage ER cases (such as those listed above) utilising strong and current knowledge of employment law and organisational policies/procedures to determine and present recommendations for resolution which balance risk, fairness and organisationalneeds.
  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners, leaders, and HR centres of Expertise to identify trends within business groups and determine root causes. Develop recommendations and mentor leaders to address identified issues.
  • Contribute regularly to HR projects, which may include organisational changes or the development, communication and implementation of new policies, programs or initiatives.
  • Provide proactive mentorship and education to HR team members to increase their employee relations knowledge and experience.
  • Own ER policies within EMEA, leading their ongoing development and ensuring they meet current organisational needs and employment legislation.
  • Maintain ER Case Management records, coordinate ER administration and ensure adherence to privacy requirements.
  • Provide accurate reporting on ER activity to HR Leadership and regular updates on significant ER issues, trends and upcoming changes to employment legislation.
  • Work in close partnership with the EMEA Employment Lawyer escalating matters or seeking advice where appropriate.
  • Manage Data Subject Access Requests, coordinating and collating materials.

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to establish trust with stakeholders and to guide and influence through the provision of credible advice and recommendations
  • Employee Relations case management experience and up to date knowledge of UK employment legislation and practices
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain a highly organised approach to work managing multiple competing deadlines
  • Teamworking and collaboration skills
  • Understanding of risk appetite and ability to analyse and explain recommendations/risks
  • Microsoft Office skills
