Healthwatch Cheshire are seeking a confident and enthusiastic Community Engagement and Project Officer, with excellent communication skills and an enquiring mind, to join our team.

Full time 37 hours
Location:
Hybrid working between home, our office in Northwich and engagement activity around the Cheshire area
Salary:
£21,840 (rising to £22,880)
Benefits: 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays, including Christmas closure, varied role with progressive training and development opportunities within a supportive team.
About Healthwatch_
Healthwatch Cheshire (consisting of Healthwatch Cheshire East and Healthwatch Cheshire West) is the local independent consumer champion for people who use health and care services, forming part of the national network of local Healthwatch across England.
Our team uses a variety of engagement techniques to gather people's views, experiences and stories to help shape and improve how services are run now and in the future.
To help us do this, we're looking for a passionate and motivated team player to join our small but dynamic team, who wants to use their skills to help make a difference.
-About the role_
As a Community Engagement and Project Officer, you will:
- Engage with a diverse range of people and communities across Cheshire, to ensure that their views are represented
- Be involved in the planning and delivery of engagement activities, managing your own diary and building networks
- Develop relationships with representatives from communities, voluntary sector and health and care providers
- Create a strong community presence and build local awareness of Healthwatch Cheshire
- Conduct Enter and View visits to observe local health and care services at the point of delivery, gathering feedback from residents, patients, relatives and carers
- As part of a team, contribute to the planning, research and production of reports on specific local Health and Care topics.

- Be motivated to work independently as well as part of a small and professional team of staff and volunteers
- Be passionate about making a difference for local communities
- Demonstrate an ability to engage using strong communication skills
- Have a cando attitude and a proactive approach to work
- Have the ability to record and present findings in an accurate, clear and understandable way
- Have a keen interest in Health and Care issues
- Have access to a car, as travel across Cheshire will be required for which you will be paid mileage (car insurance will need to cover business activity)
- Be available to work evenings and weekends if required, for which you will receive time off in lieu.
