Quality Control Inspector

Witney

£26,000 Per Annum


Our client have an exciting opportunity available for a Quality Control Inspector to join their ever-growing team based in Witney, Oxfordshire.


Quality Control Inspector Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that products at all stages of production, test and despatch meet customer specifications and standard of quality required by our client
  • Verification and organization of inspection reports and certificates of conformity received from suppliers
  • Inspection of various tolerance components, using a wide range of measuring equipment for batch run inspection and First Article Inspection Reports
  • Completing Sample Approvals on all new parts and all changes to current parts
  • Interpreting component drawings and customer standards to ensure products are produced to the highest possible quality
  • Assisting with communication to suppliers of changes to parts
  • Raising nonconformance reports for any parts that do not meet quality standard
  • Generation and implementation of corrective action reports
  • Ensuring supplier implements corrective actions to improve quality where needed
  • Monitoring and highlighting production quality issues to the Senior Quality and Continuous Improvement Engineer and Production and Scheduling Manager
  • Monitoring and acting on Quarantine goods (production line failures) including reporting on a weekly basis
  • Updating known fault registers based on production line failures and resolutions
  • Training production staff to quality standards including highlighting acceptable/nonacceptable practices
  • Changes to work instructions to assist with an improvement in quality

The Ideal Quality Control Inspector Will Have:

  • Quality control background; ideally within a SME environment
  • Good understanding of production quality requirements, gained through practical experience in production and quality in a manufacturing environment
  • Organised, thorough, and a proven completer/finisher
  • Understanding of how to read an engineering drawing
  • Good ability to use various engineering measuring equipment (verniers, callipers)
  • I.T. literate, CAD experience an advantage
  • Flexible approach, coupled with good communication and interpersonal skills
