Client Details
This leading global retail organisation have an exciting Buying Assistant role on an initial 6 month temp to perm basis within their vibrant and fast paced Milton Keynes head office.
Description
Buying Assistant duties and responsibilities;
- Ensure all plans and decisions are truly customerled
- Provide administration and data support to the team whilst not an exhaustive list, key elements will include:
- New and change of product forms, promotional forms, turnover and pricing documents, contact lists
- Support category buyers in maintaining supplier relationships and delivering profit examples will include raising, tracking and chasing invoices, proofreading and uploading terms, arranging meetings
- Work closely with the wider trading team to support as required (i.e. supply chain demand), with a strong dottedline into the price & product manager whom a lot of the administration will be required by
- Own / support and optimise existing trading meetings and processes / ways of working examples will include product change cycle (PCP), secondary space planning meeting, buyers meeting
- Support the buying and branded offers manager with adhoc administration and data as required
- Lead / support regular team meetings (i.e. preparing endofweek numbers, maintaining agenda and actionslogs
- Support the analysis of category performance, customer data / insight and market trends to plan to drive sales and profit
- Complete periodic store visits and supplier meetings as required
- Support with the opportunity new and emerging channels (i.e. digital) present
- Work alongside the wider business (i.e. marketing and retail operations) as required i.e. comms
Profile
Buying Assistant experience and characteristics;
- Experience and a proven ability in offering strong administration support to enable outstanding performance
- Relevant experience within a trading environment preferable, but not essential
- Experience of remaining highly motivated whilst managing pressure / conflict
- Strong teamworking skills with the ability to work with others across the retail business
- Highly numerate with strong analytical and MS Office skills
- SAP experience preferable, but not essential
- Strong communicator with the ability to tailor language and style dependant on audience
