Who We Are
This is an exciting time to join our innovative NES Pharmacy Senior Educator team with several significant intiatives planned which will support the development of the NHS Scotland Pharmacy workforce to improve care of patients as medicines experts within the Health and Social care team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a pharmacist with experience/an interest in educational initiatives to expand their career experience, with responsibilities at both regional and national level.
We have two permanent posts available:1 WTE (permanent) - Base Glasgow
This role will involve working within the Foundation Training Year (FTY) for Trainee Pharmacists, organising and supporting education and training across Scotland to ensure recruitment and progression of Trainee Pharmacists.
This role involves working within the Prescribing and clinical skills team to develop and deliver prescribing resources for post-graduate pharmacists across all sectors.
This extends to supporting development and delivery of advanced practice training in primary care.Further detail on each post is found in the Job Summary document
What you'll do
The Senior educator/Pharmacy Practice Education Coordinator in Pharmacy provide organisation and support for Educational Supervisors and learners across all our workstreams with a focus on one area.
What you'll bring
These will include but are not restricted to;
- Experience of working in an educationally focused environment.
- Experience of planning and delivering education and training.
- Experience of working in a patient centred environment is essential.
- Working towards, or qualified as, an independent prescriber is essential for the role with IP/CS (currently preferable for the role for FTY).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiating and influencing skills.
- Ability to develop and maintain good communications and working relationships with a wide range of staff, community groups, internal and external stakeholders and trainees/learners.
- Credentialled or working towards credentialling of a postgraduate framework/ curriculum is desirable.
