Description

We are a leading engineering surveyor, looking to appoint a CAD Operator to join our experienced surveying team in our Nottingham office.


As a CAD Operator you will work on a wide variety of interesting and exciting survey projects, supporting the survey manager and surveyors with the completion of survey drawings ready to be issued to clients.

You will work closely with the surveyors to understand the site to ensure accuracy in the drawings before being completed and issued.

As a CAD Operator you will produce a variety of survey drawings, including elevations, roof plans and floor plans.


This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, with office hours of , occasional overtime and weekend working may also be required to meet client deadlines.


Responsibilities:


As a CAD Operator, you will:

  • Demonstrate an excellent working knowledge and experience of CAD Softwares, including AutoCAD and BrisCAD
  • Complete survey drawings ready to be issued to clients
  • Draw measured building surveys from Point Cloud data
  • Produce floor plans, reflective ceiling plans, roof plans and electrical layout plans using point cloud data
  • Produce internal and external elevations and cross section drawings using point cloud data
  • Update and amend existing survey drawings at the client's request, working closely with the surveyors and survey managers to understand client requirements
  • Check volume calculations on BrisCAD and Solid works
  • Work closely with surveyors to understand and gain knowledge of the site and project to produce high quality drawings
  • Supporting other offices to meet deadlines where required

Requirements:


  • Previous knowledge and experience of CAD softwares, and drawing up internal elevations
  • Able to review and check measured building survey drawings
  • Experience completing 3D topographical models from pointcloud data
  • Previous knowledge of processing in Trimble RealWorks and Leica Cyclone processing softwares would be desirable
  • Previous AutoCAD or BrisCAD experience or knowledge gained from working in the Surveying or Construction Industry would be desirable
  • Able to complete work to a high standard and to a given deadline
  • Organised with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Hold a minimum of 5 GCSE's including Maths & English to Grade C level/ Grade 4 level
  • City & Guilds Certificate in Computer Aided Design Parametric Modelling Levels and/ or 2D Computer Aided Design 1 to 3, or equivalent desirable
  • Able to commute and work from our Nottingham office daily
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Right to work in the UK
