An opportunity has arisen for a
Maintenance Operative to join the Excelcare family in the
Milton Keynes Region.
Excelcare is a family-owned care home group established for over 30 years. Offering great care every day is central to everything we do.


What to expect:

Salary:£28,036 - £29,475:

-
40 hours a week from 8am - 5pm, Monday to Friday.

What you will need:


We are looking for a general all-rounder with a basic knowledge of Plumbing and Electrical, who has good attention to detail with a positive can-do attitude, enjoys working in a client facing role, with a strong focus on providing excellent customer service.

Please note there is an on call rota system in place for additional call out hours. Previous Maintenance experience would be ideal, as well as basic computer knowledge and good reading and writing.


A full driving license and vehicle is essential as travel will be required for projects or annual leave/sickness across our Cambridge Care Homes.

You will be paid for mileage.


The post holder is to ensure the premises and grounds are maintained to a high standard and provide the residents with a safe, comfortable and pleasant environment in which to live.

Maintain all records in accordance with company policies, procedures andguidelines.


Responsibilities:


  • Maintaining the building and equipment
  • Carry out routine checks weekly, monthly, annually on systems in the home and ensuring that external checks are carried out within the agreed timeframe e.g Loler testing
  • Maintain awareness of the Company and Home's policies and procedures especially the Fire Policy.
  • Participate in Training and Development as an individual and as part of the team.
  • Get involved in the induction of new staff by training them on the building layout and fire policies and procedures.
  • Maintain client and business confidentiality at all times.
  • Control and ordering of stock and acceptance and checking of deliveries.
  • Maintain an awareness of the Health and Safety requirements.
  • Observe and maintain high levels of communication within the teams of staff, individual colleagues and residents.
  • Maintain client and business confidentiality at all times.
  • To carry out any additional duties as requested.
  • To undertake any additional training and development programmes considered appropriate to enhance your contribution to the work at this home.
