The post will be responsible for the development and delivery of strategic transport planning policy including all aspects of the Regional Transport Plan. The Job

Swansea Council is looking to employ a Regional Transport Plan Co-ordinator.

The postholder will be responsible for the development and delivery of strategic transport planning policy to lead on the development, formulation, monitoring and implementation the policy as it effects the social, economic and physical characteristics of the South West Wales Region.


You will be expected to liaise with and report to the Regional Corporate Joint Committee (CJC), Transport Directors Group and other appropriate Council Officers to achieve working consensus.

You will work with project management resources within the City & County of Swansea which will assist in the delivery.

You will be expected to provide professional leadership and strategic and detailed advice as required to assist the CJC in the fulfilment of its policies and duties and to discharge correctly the delegated powers.

You will have excellent administration and management skills and be proficient in Microsoft packages and adept in utilising Excel.

Personal qualities will include being adaptable, flexible with the ability to deal with unpredictable situations as they arise. You will be able to prioritise under pressure, within a change environment.

You will be expected to work in an agile environment mainly based in Swansea Guildhall.


You must have good communication skills and be willing to positively interact will all members of the Council and the team.
