Children's Residential - Team Leader (Trauma Services)

£22,510.80 to £23,240.88 per annum + sleep-in allowance

Type of provision:

The children in our care range between the ages of 6-17 years of age on admission and come from adverse backgrounds.

This may include; emotional and behavioural difficulties, neglect, physical harm, sexual abuse, substance misuse, domestic violence and more.

We understand that it will be a traumatic time for a child being away from family and/or their usual surroundings, on top of the trauma they may have already experienced.


Our homes have a sense of family and within this it is natural that children and staff fall into general family roles.

The children themselves often form sibling type bonds within the home and it is very inspiring and rewarding to see them develop and progress with a sense of respect and self worth

Working as a Team Leader within one of our complex trauma provisions is a truly remarkable role, you will have such an impact on children's lives and give them an upbringing and outlook on life they haven't experienced before.

Not only will you be supporting children, but as a Team Leader you will provide guidance and support to Support Workers within the home.


Overview

  • We are seeking talented individuals to join our teams as on shift Team Leaders to join our experienced team at our wellestablished OFSTED registered homes located across the region.
  • We are looking for you to join us in making a positive impact on the lives of the young people in our care and provide guidance and support to colleagues.
  • The children in our care are between 617 years of age on admission and come from a range of adverse backgrounds this may include; neglect, physical harm, abuse, domestic violence, gang affiliation, bereavement.
  • You will be asked to work alongside other qualified support workers and clinicians in homely settings that care for no more than 5 young people at a time.
  • You will be involved in all aspects of their everyday life, such as household duties, transporting the children to school and other provisions, maintaining paperwork and enriching their lives through activities and supporting hobbies.
  • The job will be varied and interesting and you will find yourself involved in every aspect of our children and young people's lives including practical, hands on activities, offering vital emotional, guidance and support and bringing your personal care, attention and structure to every child's unique life. Each day will bring its own set of challenges, obstacles and victories, as well as the personal rewards of working with each individual to help them achieve their personal best whatever that may be.

Qualifications/Experience/Requirements

  • You must hold a full UK driving license
  • Hold your Level 3 in Residential Childcare or Children and Young People's Workforce (Or working towards this)
  • Have worked within a children's residential setting for at least 12 months
  • Be flexible to work shifts which will include sleepins to suit the needs of the children in our home.
