What scientific question will you investigate? Outline of the project aims**:

A Research Fellow position is available working on a project to develop a novel system for drug delivery in the fruit-fly, _Drosophila melanogaster_, using lipid nanoparticles or liposomes.

The project is highly interdisciplinary and will aim to further develop methodologies for enhancing drug bioavailability in _Drosophila._


About the research group:

We are located within the vibrant research community on Gibbet Hill Campus alongside Warwick Medical School (WMS). SLS offers a world-class, multidisciplinary research environment with a large and thriving community of internationally renowned researchers.


Research strengths within SLS cover a broad portfolio of cell and developmental biology, supported by cutting-edge computational and experimental facilities, including genomics, proteomics, biomedical services, and imaging.

SLS also delivers excellent quality teaching using a blend of traditional and innovative teaching methods.


Research Fellows within SLS are actively encouraged and supported to develop their broader academic profile by contributing to teaching at all levels through small group tutorials, practical sessions, and lectures.


About You

If you have not yet been awarded your PhD but are near submission or have recently submitted your PhD, any offers of employment will be made as Research Assistant at the top of level 5 within the University grade structure. Upon successful award of your PhD and evidence of this fact, you will be promoted to Research Fellow on the first point of the level 6 of the University grade structure, unless exceptional experience applies to warrant a higher salary.


We are looking for someone with expertise in the molecular, cell or developmental biology of _Drosophila._ Previous experience working with lipid nanoparticles is also essential.

You should also have a good working knowledge of general molecular biology techniques (for example, qPCR, western blotting) and imaging of _Drosophila _cells or tissues.

Experience of working on an interdisciplinary scientific project is desirable, strong scientific interest and ability to work autonomously are essential.
