An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Information Management and Technology teamat Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust, to support the Senior Information Governance Officer to achieve compliance with legislative Acts and regulatory obligations relating to information, including Freedom of Information, Data Protection and the Data Security and Protection Toolkit.


We are a small, friendly team working within the Information Management & Technology department and you will be supported by the Senior Information Governance Officer and Data Protection Officer.

You will work as part of an expanding Information Governance Team, to support patients/service users in exercising their rights in relation to Freedom of Information and Data Subject Access Requests.

You will assist the Senior Information Governance Officer in increasing the awareness of managers and staff, throughout the Trust, to meet the requirements of the:


  • Data Security & Protection Toolkit
  • Freedom of Information Act
  • Data Protection Act and
  • General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)


Supporting the management of IG incidents and assist with the daily administration of the team's workload, you will be able to demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills, a good eye for detail and ability to manage a busy workload.

Experience of delivering training and conducting audits would be an advantage.

Your role will also involve co-ordinating information request responses, so that requests are processed in-line with timescales and legislation. Collating Data Security and Protection Toolkit compliance evidence and providing help and guidance to staff. Increasing IG awareness and mandatory training compliance for all staff working within the Trust.
