The governors, principal, students and staff at Ormiston Six Villages Academy are seeking to appoint an inspirational and committed Head of MFL, passionate about teaching languages, who has the vision and creativity to lead our Modern Foreign Languages department.

The successful applicant will be an inspirational classroom practitioner with high expectations in your classroom as well as others.

You will have the ability to motivate, lead and develop the department, will have a forward-thinking approach to both curriculum intent and implementation and will want to inspire students to learn languages.

You will have experience of leading and managing a curriculum area, will have taught at least two languages and consistently achieved very strong outcomes.

You will also be critical in shaping the direction of training for your team and fostering a culture of high expectations and high aspirations in all learners, dedicated to developing the full potential of our students.


The MFL department currently teaches French and Spanish and is a thriving area providing opportunities for students to practise their language skills during trips to France and Spain.

The successful applicant will join a dedicated and collaborative academy committed to producing the highest quality work, achieving high academic standards and will be eager to contribute to the extra curricular work and wider life of the academy.

We actively promote continuing professional development and encourage staff to pursue all enhancement programmes.
