The School/role:
We are working with an Ofsted rated 'Good' Alternative Provision school based in Walsall that are seeking a passionate and resilient School Behaviour Support Assistant to join their team.
As a School Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting a specific student with an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) in Year 9 that has Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Your responsibilities will include providing personalised assistance, fostering a supportive learning environment, and helping students overcome challenges they may face related to SEMH needs such as anxiety, behavioural difficulties, and social interaction.
The team within the school are very supportive and will help you along the way. The staff in the school aim to give the best possible educational experience for their students. This job opportunity is very fulfilling for people who have teaching assistant experience.A new enhanced DBS will be needed for this role or a subscription to the DBS update service.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teaching Assistant OR Relevant SEN Background
- PECS and Makaton training/experience
- ASD, SEMH, Nonverbal, PMLD, MLD, visual impairment needs experience
- Level 1 safeguarding certificate
- Recent school based references
- Valid Photo ID
- Driving Licence or passport
- Full DBS on the update service
