Introduction:


This is a hybrid role with 2-3 days per week required onsite, the rest of the work can be done from home.

My client is a large defence consultancy who specialise in research and engineering for government clients.

They are looking for a Global Trade Compliance Leader to ensure that the business is meeting trade compliance legislation, as well as export and import responsibilities.

Key responsibilities:


  • Engage with relevant bodies such as Export Control Joint Unit (ECJU), HMRC and the Department for International Trade (DIT).
  • Ensure import and export processes are met.
  • Ensure the whole business is aware of their trade compliance responsibilities.
  • Provide advice on projects to make sure they comply with relevant trade regulations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with government regulators.

Skills & experience:


  • In depth knowledge of UK and US Export Control legislation (including ITAR and EAR)
  • Experience managing both internal and external audits.
  • Understanding of UK and US Licensing procedures.
  • Experience leading a Trade Compliance function at a senior level.
  • Experience in the defence sector.
