Introduction:

This is a hybrid role with 2-3 days per week required onsite, the rest of the work can be done from home.

My client is a large defence consultancy who specialise in research and engineering for government clients.

They are looking for a Global Trade Compliance Leader to ensure that the business is meeting trade compliance legislation, as well as export and import responsibilities.

Key responsibilities:

Engage with relevant bodies such as Export Control Joint Unit (ECJU), HMRC and the Department for International Trade (DIT).
Ensure import and export processes are met.
Ensure the whole business is aware of their trade compliance responsibilities.
Provide advice on projects to make sure they comply with relevant trade regulations.
Build and maintain strong relationships with government regulators.

Skills & experience:

In depth knowledge of UK and US Export Control legislation (including ITAR and EAR)
Experience managing both internal and external audits.
Understanding of UK and US Licensing procedures.
Experience leading a Trade Compliance function at a senior level.
Experience in the defence sector.
