Job Summary

What is the opportunity?


This is an Execution role in GIB's debt advisory team, focusing on advising clients raise debt in the private debt market.

Core role is to support senior team members prepare pitch materials and when mandated assist in successful execution. Strong financial modelling skills essential and ability to manage/prioritise multiple tasks.

  • Source specific debt advisory, structuring and placement opportunities, liaising with sector teams and product functions where appropriate in the realisation of the same
  • Develop new product offerings to target identified market opportunities.
  • Progress transactions through the origination and execution stage
  • Assist in the general implementation of the business strategy within the Capital Structuring Advisory

What will you do?

Origination

  • Assist in the development and execution of marketing for standalone Capital Structuring Advisory mandates
  • Provide support to the origination efforts of sector teams for M&A activity where debt structuring advice will comprise part of the mandate
  • Maintain a dialogue with market participants in order to understand current trends, product availability and appetite

Execution

  • Assist in the management of the transaction, maintaining regular contact with client, specialist advisors, other inhouse departments and ad hoc contacts as required. Ensure requisite internal approvals are secured.
  • Develop and operate financial models and related tools required to execute transactions.
  • Address legal issues, where appropriate and ensure their full impact is considered.
  • Structure, negotiate and execute financing solutions to meet requirements of clients in the given sector.
  • Process transaction to the documentation and funding stage.
  • Provide support to other transaction teams as required.

What do you need to succeed?

Must have

  • An understanding of the sector, the key players, strategic dynamics as well as the current issues facing the sector
  • Sound judgment, particularly in assessing creditworthiness, suitability of debt products to the context and with strong analytical skills
  • Highly motivated, enthusiastic individual with the ability to develop and execute profitable new business opportunities.
  • Good lateral thinker, imaginative, creative and proactive.
  • Specific "product" and/or "process" knowledge is required
  • Experience in originating, structuring and executing various advisory and financing transactions in combination with strong analytical and financial modelling skills.
  • Relationship and transactionoriented with sound judgement and an appreciation of market and sector fundamentals.
  • Ability to negotiation with clients and other agencies at various levels

Nice to have

  • Degree level qualification or equivalent
  • Accountancy or Actuary qualification or Corporate Finance experience
