**About the Role

  • Marketing Executive (PR and Social Media)**As a member of the Alton Towers Resort Marketing team, the Marketing Exec (PR And Social Media) role supports the Marketing Team in delivering the Resort's marketing strategy which promotes, enhances and protects the Alton Towers Resort brand.
Reporting to the PR Manager, you will support the development and execution of the PR and Social Media strategy.

The role covers a variety of tasks, giving you a great insight into PR and Social Media for a high-profile and exciting brand.

As an Exec in the team you will also get to be involved in wider channel activity from the delivery of brand assets to supporting the success of PR events.

In addition, you will get to assist with the day-to-day operation of the Resort's busy Press Office which leads on internal and external communications at the Resort.


You'll get exposure to working with some of the industry's best agencies, Merlin-wide initiatives and have the opportunity to undertake training and development opportunities all designed to help you carve a future in marketing and communications.

Working in fast-paced department, you must be innovative, creative, and excited by the diverse nature of this role.


Main Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of internal and external communications for the brand, Identifying and contributing exciting ideas that showcase the Resort
  • Provide daytoday Press Office support including media requests, location enquiries, coordination of competition winners and requests for charity support
  • Coordinate of the Resort's social media calendar, scheduling, editing and publishing content
  • Support media access for a range of exciting film and photography opportunities, ensuring the relevant checks and paperwork is compete, as well as company crews onsite where required
  • Ensure our media database is uptodate and remains relevant
  • Support with the distribution of press releases to key media, as well as helping the Resort build key relationships with journalists and media contacts
  • Support the PR Manager in identifying additional opportunities for the Resort to land coverage and partnership opportunities that reach key audiences throughout the year
  • Create and manage a library of approved assets for media use and manage the Resort's online Media Centre
  • Writing blog posts that incorporate SEO elements to help raise awareness of key messages and drive web traffic
  • Support with regular analysis, insight and reports for the Resort's coverage and social media success
Support the delivery of PR events throughout the year to help showcase the Resort and maximise media visits

Liaise with teams across the Resort to collate information for award submissions

  • Work with teams across the Resort to support the brand tone of voice is delivered internally and externally
  • Coordinate the daytoday delivery of the Resort's influencer programme, identifying relevant influencers and collaborators to leverage key opportunities throughout the year to ensure the Brand is gaining enhanced exposure whilst adhering to relevant guidelines
  • Monitor the Resort's social media channels and work with the Resort's Guest Excellence team to identify threats and opportunities across our social media channels
  • Track and share UGC to help provide strong, costeffective, authentic content for our audiences
  • Stay abreast of competitor activity to help ensure the brand remains a mustdo destination for families and thrillseekers
  • Assist in the delivery of reactive media comms across our Social Media channels in a timely and diligent manner
  • Develop relationships with designated media contacts and influencers to generate online and offline competitions to support the annual PR and social media plan
  • Work alongside the team's Execs and support the Managers in assisting with tasks that support the delivery of awardwinning campaigns and day to day channel output
