The Senior Coordinator for Student Entrepreneurship Ecosystem will be a key facilitator in shaping the entrepreneurial landscape on campus, which includes building and managing a vibrant ecosystem that empowers students to ideate, innovate, and transform their ideas into successful ventures.

You will collaborate with various stakeholders to provide resources, mentorship, and networking opportunities to aspiring student entrepreneurs.

Assistant Director, Ashesi Entrepreneurship Centre


Key Responsibilities:


Program Management**:


  • Develop and manage a portfolio of cocurricular and extracurricular programs tailored to students' needs and aspirations and aimed at nurturing entrepreneurial skills and innovation among students.
  • Foster strategic partnerships with alumni, external organizations, startups, investors, and industry leaders to enhance resources, mentorship, networking, and funding opportunities for student entrepreneurs.
  • Employ datadriven insights to continuously improve existing programs and explore new initiatives, ensuring they remain aligned with the evolving needs of student entrepreneurs and the dynamic landscape of the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
  • Drive the promotion of entrepreneurship programs offered by the Ashesi Entrepreneurship Center, to attract a diverse and talented pool of student entrepreneurs.
  • Coordinate and facilitate a wide range of events, including pitch competitions, demo days, and industry displays, providing student entrepreneurs opportunities to gain valuable exposure within the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
  • Serve as an inhouse mentor for undergraduate and graduate student ventures; provide oneonone guidance and coaching to student entrepreneurs, helping them refine their business ideas, develop viable business models, and navigate the startup ecosystem.

Resource Management:


  • Identify, curate, and maintain a central repository of resources, including funding opportunities and mentorship programs accessible to student entrepreneurs.
  • Coordinate the allocation of resources, including physical spaces, funding, and access to mentors, to support studentled startups and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with relevant departments to ensure students have access to the tools and resources necessary for their entrepreneurial endeavours.

Financial Management:


  • Manage program budgets, monitor expenditures, track financial performance, and provide periodic reports to the Assistant Director of the Ashesi Entrepreneurship Center and other internal stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for cost optimization and revenue generation to sustain and expand entrepreneurship programs.

Impact Assessment and Reporting:


  • Design assessment tools, surveys, and data collection methods to gather relevant data and insights for program evaluation.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations that highlight insights, outcomes, impact, and areas of improvement.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in business, Entrepreneurship, or a related field.
  • 2 3 years progressive experience in program management, stakeholder engagement, and entrepreneurial ecosystem development.
  • Demonstrate experience in developing and implementing successful entrepreneurshiprelated programs and activities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a teamoriented environment.
  • Experience working directly with university students and a deep understanding of their needs and challenges is highly desirable.
