Would you like to work in a wonderful Primary School with a KS2 pupil on a 1:1 basis?


Our NEW specialist Primary Branch in Swansea are looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to work with a names pupil 1:1.

The pupil is in KS2 and will need support until he finishes at his current school.

The pupil has Autism and not only struggleswith their learning but also with engaging with fellow pupils and staff in the school.

Due to this we feel someone who is experienced would be a more suitable fit.

The pupil can display challenging behaviour but the school are very supportive and will ensureyou know of any triggers before starting.


As an 1:1 TA, your responsibilities will include:

  • Working closely with a pupil with Autism on a 1:1 basis within a mainstream classroom
  • Delivering bespoke interventions
  • Changing some lessons to suit the needs of your pupil
  • Encouraging learning and engagement in school
  • Making sure the pupil is on time for the lessons and has the correct equipment
  • Deescalating challenging behaviour and being aware of triggers
  • Flexible and adaptable in work situations
  • Caring and compassionate
  • Able to work in a challenging environment
  • Confident in managing challenging behaviour
  • Willing to complete any training and CPD necessary for the role

This will be a temporary role to begin with, however there is the opportunity for a permanent placement pending a successful trial period.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
