Warehouse Operative

Summary
The successful applicant will work alongside the Warehouse Supervisor, picking spare parts for a busy Stores department.


The ideal applicant will have experience in monitoring warehouse inventory, maintaining stock accuracy and ensuring that goods are dispatched on time to meet all customer requirements.

They will have proven work experience in a busy warehouse environment.


Key Role
Day to day activities and duties including but not limited to:

  • Dealing with cross department issues
  • Picking
  • Packing
  • Despatch
  • Unloading
  • Customer Returns via tablet
  • Collections
  • Deliveries
  • Quality Control
  • Repairs
  • Disposal
  • Stock Taking
  • Stock Movements
  • Data Entry
  • Sage
  • Stock Transfers
  • Health & Safety assessments
  • Liaising with warehouse suppliers
  • Recording of goods into warehouse

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that all activities carried out comply with GFA's Safety, Security, Quality and Environmental policies and standards
  • Following the leadership and behavioral standards as outlined by the Company Handbook
  • Operate material handling equipment and techniques as outlined in the companies Safe Working Systems
  • Work flexibly and as directed, according to skills, in order to meet the operational needs of the business and its customers
  • Accurately record stock movement and usage
  • Manage the required standard of 'housekeeping' within the areas of responsibility
  • Support continuous improvement activities to optimise process efficiencies
  • Work in an efficient and effective manner to ensure all Warehouse KPI and Deadline targets are met
  • Effective reporting to management for any operational issues, risks or losses before they impact on the customer
  • Provide and receive training as and when required to support the business growth
  • Weekly fire alarm system checks
  • Daily Health and safety checks
  • Daily equipment checks

What are we looking for?

  • Previous experience with warehouse or logistics
  • Experience with Warehouse Management System (WMS)
  • Be able to communicate clearly with other team members
  • Due to the nature of the job and for insurances purposes the applicant must be over 25 and hold a full driver's license
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule and shift, including weekends if needed
  • Health & Safety conscious person

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent


Salary:
£23,000.00-£24,000.00 per year

Experience:


  • Warehouse experience: 3 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Driving Licence (required)
