Heart of England Community Foundation, is an independent charity with over 27 years' experience delivering bespoke grant programmes on behalf of a range of donors across the West Midlands and Warwickshire.

Key Responsibilities

  • Effectively manage the monitoring of all successful awards and undertake monitoring visits to a proportion of grant recipients.
  • To prioritise and manage workload in line with grant making cycles.
  • To ensure consistent, highquality level of assessments in preparation for grant making panels.
  • Produce high quality documentation for all panel meetings including providing the panel with data to support with decision making.
  • Record essential information accurately and in a timely manner on our database.
  • Identify strong stories of change as a result of our funding for the Foundation to share with donors, supporters and the wider community.
  • Work with the Marketing and Communications Team to promote the grants awarded and ensure positive press coverage.
  • Liaise with the Finance Department to ensure prompt payment of awards.
  • To work with the wider team on the general running of the office.

Essential Knowledge, Experience and Skills

  • Experience of completing due diligence on an organisation and its policies.
  • Understanding of, and the differences between, charities, social enterprises and other not for profit organisations' set up, governance and business models.
  • Experience of managing multiple caseloads to a high standard and to set deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Understand and interpret budgets and accounts.
  • Ability to engage with grant applicants, fundholders and donors.
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of people and agencies.
  • Intermediate IT skills, including CRM system, word, excel and powerpoint.
  • Strong selfmotivation and selfstarter.
  • Effective organisational skills, including prioritising, so that deadlines and tasks are delivered on time, accurately and with attention to detail.
  • Understanding the principles and practice of equal opportunities, programme delivery and helping people most in need.

Salary, Benefits & Hours
£22,000 - £25,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week.

Hybrid working - Minimum 2 days office based
