Living Well Consortium is recruiting for a CYP Service Lead to join our clinical team The post holder will support a team of triage, psychological wellbeing, and clinical practitioners delivering talking therapies and counselling.

They will provide clinical guidance, supervision, and case management as well as leading our CYP counselling and talking therapies service.


Purpose of the role


The post holder will be an energetic and committed practitioner and will support a team of triage, psychological wellbeing, and clinical practitioners delivering talking therapies and counselling.

They will provide clinical guidance, supervision, and case management to enhance the practitioners' experience at work and contribute towards their professional development.


Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Lead the CYP counselling and talking therapies service
  • Provide supervision to clinical staff including Psychology Assistants
  • Provide training to new starter clinical staff
  • Identify clinical training requirements
  • Manage and monitor all service referrals, including regular filtering of referrals and ensuring appropriate allocations
  • Oversee the formulation of group therapies and support the delivering practitioners
  • Line manage clinical staff, including overseeing holiday requests, annual reviews, and performance management
  • Ensure clients are contacted within the contracted wait times
  • Ensure clinical staff are adhering to established delivery models
  • Chair regular staff meetings
  • Undertake clinical audits when required
  • Provide support with the management and supervision of practitioners to ensure the smooth running of services
  • Monitor the quality of treatments delivered by LWC central services
  • Contribute to projects within the service and ensure project deliverables are met
  • Develop, support, and train innovative practice of CYP services
  • Work with Consortium member organisations to ensure the development, maintenance, and dissemination of the highest professional standards
  • Ensure all clinical documents are up to date
  • Provide support to the Clinical Lead to ensure best practice across the Consortium and that clinical excellence is maintained.
  • Liaise with staff, service Providers and stakeholders and attending regular internal and external clinical team meetings as required.
  • Ensure the maintenance of standards of practice according to the employer and any regulating body and keep up to date on new recommendations/guidelines set by the department of health (e.g. NHS plan, National Service Framework, National Institute for Clinical Excellence).
  • Formulate and deliver workshops for staff when needed
  • Liaise with partners and referring services
  • Supporting with the maintenance of accurate and effective data quality
  • Monitor client waiting times and raise to management if action plan required to alleviate periods of high waiting times.
  • Support the Clinical Lead with Safeguarding issues
  • Provide a service that is nondiscriminatory and compassionate
  • Undertake training as and when required by the organisation.
  • Attend and contribute to meetings as required by the organisation
  • Work within the organisations policies and procedures
  • Undertake such other duties commensurate with the role
  • Understand and work within the ethos, aims and objectives of LWC.

Person specification

  • A qualification in a relevant area in CYP talking therapies and mental health work (such as PWP with CYP experience and top up training, CWP, CYP, CYP CBT, or Mental Health nursing) or equivalent experience
  • An understanding of NHS Talking Therapies services
  • Experience of using data systems such as IAPTUS
  • Proactive selfstarter with a positive and energetic approach to work
  • Experience in the delivery of guided selfhelp and group psychoeducation within a clinical setting such as NHS Talking Therapies
  • Experience providing clinical support to practitioners
  • Experience in working with suicidal clients and risk management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Confident communicator at all levels
  • Effective time management and workload management
  • Exceptional levels of integrity and professional judgement
  • Empathy with the aims and values of the organisation
  • Commitment to continuous improvement including own professional development

Part-time hours: per week


Salary:
£36,206.44 per year
