About this opportunity:


Networks and Managed Services Delivery (NMSD) is responsible for the delivery of Network Products & Solutions, Network Roll-Out, Support & Repair, Network Optimization & Managed Services.


The Environment and Health and Safety Coordinator role is responsible for delivering advice and support, to ensure that Ericsson is achieving the highest possible standards on the projects in the UK and Ireland.

Working with and supporting EHS team and wider business to deliver Ericsson EHS strategy and Ways of Working, bringing up to EHS Specialists when specialist EHS support is required.


The Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator is expected to utilise their skills to support maintenance of EHS systems, supervising EHS activities and data providing reports and trending data, for projects and regional teams to provide visibility within Ericsson NMSD and the wider Market Area Europe & Latin America (MELA) organisation, to support decision making and drive EHS performance.


In addition, as part of the role you will be expected to build and forge relationships with stakeholders to support the cascading and collation of EHS information and records, coordinating meetings and supporting risk management within Ericsson to drive continuous improvement.

What you will do:


  • Being point of contact for project, promoting EHS to project stakeholders implementing EHS strategy, fostering and Promoting Safety Culture, coaching, enabling, promoting and encouraging safe working practices and behaviours promoting Target Zero Culture.
  • Support Risk Management of project and region, maintaining project risk register and assisting with task specific risk assessments and reviewing of relevant construction phase health and safety plans.
  • Responsible for ensuring onsite activities are carried out by all parties in line with Ericsson MELA & Global environmental sustainability objectives for region ensuring compliance to EHS regulations and strategy across region/project.
  • Coordination and deployment responsibilities to meet business needs and ensure compliance with health, safety and wellbeing requirements, including legal and customer, and health, safety and wellbeing procedures across all client projects, customers, and authorised Service Providers (ASP).
  • Provide advice and guidance to a range internal and external stakeholders including but not limited to UK EHS Team, Project Teams & Managers, (ASP), individual colleagues, and contractors.
  • Support ongoing management of ASP relationship in relation to EHS as per supplier and work lists for region, providing feedback and acting as point of escalation.
  • Review ASP contractor management tools, QPL and PICW registers to ensure compliance of ASPs in region. Managing, tracking and working with projects/ASPs to review open actions to closure.
  • Represent and lead EHS matters in all appropriate governance activities, providing regional oversight providing physical presence on sites to carry out audit and inspection activities.
  • Establishing and maintaining good operational Customer/Contractor/Internal relationships and communications being a point of escalation. Collaborating closely with Customer's to understand concerns raised, identify any remediation required, influence implementation and supervise performance ASP and EHS teams.
  • Promote and encourage all internal and external personnel to report incidents, near misses hazards and safety suggestions.
  • Lead Team Accident and Incident Investigation and complete a Root Cause Analysis report into any internal incident / accident investigation within their area of responsibility in liaison with the Head of EHS UK&I and any specialist support that may be required, and provide, supervise and implement recommendations.
  • Proactively act to identify innovative solutions and improvements to mitigate risk or achieve Environmental sustainability ambitions and promote EHS improvements and initiatives generally.
  • Provide internal training / toolbox talks on EHS relevant topics and lessons learned, updates or new and emerging risks relevant to the business.
  • Regular reporting to Management Team on EHS performance issues and achievements including any agreed EHS Improvement Plans
  • Provide monthly updates to the Head of EHS UK&I concerning projects' EHS performance, including those relevant to the annual Market Area Europe, Latin America (MELA) KPI's.
  • Any other duties to support EHS management with project / region as determined by senior management.
