Legal Secretary - Private Client (maternity cover)


ABOUT YOU:

Essential experience:


  • The ability to work accurately, with good attention to detail
  • The ability to type at 60 WPM
  • Good administration and Microsoft Office skills
  • The ability to work as part of a team
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to work to deadlines
  • Experience of working in an office environment
  • A good level of education, ideally to include GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • A professional and friendly demeanour

THE ROLE:

Your duties will be varied but will include:

  • Transcription and production of correspondence/documentation requested by the fee earners via digital dictation and Outlook, to include amending and formatting where necessary.
  • To open/close files on instructions from the fee earners.
  • Producing the invoices for monthly billing.
  • To attend to clients both on the telephone and in person.
  • To take and record accurately any messages and pass on the same to the appropriate person without unnecessary delay.
  • Scanning in of daily post for the department (rota basis)
  • To ensure all items of outgoing post are signed and received by Admin by 5pm each evening.
  • To assist with cover for other secretaries (within the firm generally) when they are on holiday or sick.
  • To make appointments, arrange meetings and maintain an up to date diary for their fee earners.
  • Attending clients with a fee earner to witness Wills and other documents as required.
  • To undertake any other duties which may be allocated, such as assisting with Powerpoint
Presentations.

  • To ensure the confidentiality of all client documentation and/or information.

Our Private Client team has a wide range of skills and expertise. The team is made up of qualified

Solicitors, Chartered Tax Advisors, Trust and Estate Practitioners and Tax Technicians.

The team provides a full and comprehensive legal service and have a number of long-standing lawyers who have acted for many families for decades, across the generations.

The Legal 500 describes the Private

Client team as "first-class, always accessible, quick and efficient".

The salary for this role is c £27,000 - £29,000 depending on qualifications and experience.

Working hours are 9am - 5.30pm Monday - Friday
