Serco's Environmental Services provide a complete waste and recycling service on behalf of the residents and community in Charnwood.

With a professional, dedicated, and friendly team of Refuse and Recycling and Street Cleansing staff, we ensure that streets, homes and businesses are kept clean, safe and tidy, whilst providing the very best levels of customer service to all members of the community that we serve.

And right now, we have an opportunity for a like-minded Administrator to join our team of essential key workers and help us make a positive difference to the environment we all live and work in.


Reporting to the Compliance Manager this role will see you being accountable for control of the finance purchasing system, including stock control, maintaining all purchasing requirements for the contract, and ensuring tidy supplier accounts.

You will be processing data for Payroll and maintaining human resource systems in line with policies and data protection regulations.


An important part of this role will be to develop and maintain a network of positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, working collaboratively with the wider team to ensure all work orders are provided and completed within the time laid down in the contract conditions.

Other administration related duties will include; Answering phone calls Managing computer databases, record keeping and filing systems Providing reports and statistical information Taking minutes for meetings

You won't be doing this alone either.

What do I need to do the role?


To be considered for a position within our team, you will be an experienced administrator from a fast-paced environment, with the ability to manage your own workload effectively and efficiently and to tight deadlines.


You should have excellent attention to detail, be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages, specifically Excel with experience in data entry and problem solving.


You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, great attention to detail and able to adapt to ever changing workloads and to work under pressure.

A background in business administration and experience with finance and payroll is desirable.
