Description


Advanced Air (UK) Ltd manufacturers Fire and Smoke dampers for the construction industry, in additional control panels, grilles, louvre and Fan Coil Units are produced in our two sites in Thetford.

They are currently looking for a Maintenance apprentice to join their team.


Main Duties:


  • Promote team working and good communications, manage employee performance through review system and ensure compliance with the company's handbook.
  • Liaise with Team Leaders regarding a planned maintenance schedule to carry out preventative maintenance as is necessary to ensure that machinery and equipment is adequately maintained to prevent breakdowns.
  • Promptly attend breakdowns and ensure tasks are prioritized with the aim of keeping downtime to a minimum.
  • Assess and order parts and equipment necessary to complete individual tasks.
  • Liaise with outside contractors on scheduling machine maintenance and or building maintenance and/or new installations.
  • Communicate all issues to the Maintenance Manager/Production Manager if those problems are likely to cause production to miss targets.
  • Available for call outs and weekend working as required.
  • Carry out reactive, planned and preventative repairs/replacements/improvements on all types of machinery (electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, Pneumatic, CNC), equipment, fixtures, fittings, building systems including plumbing, drainage.
  • Carry out any other reasonable requests as required (such as working with other teams to help fulfil targets.
Entry requirements

Good English and Maths grades Grades 5-9 or A-C.

Training to be provided

  • The learner will be studying the Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard qualification.
  • Day release to West Suffolk College.
  • Functional skills will be studied if equivalent qualifications are not held.
Things to consider

A lot to learn, interesting, each day is different and can be challenging when machines break down. Maintenance work can often need doing
out of normal working hours.
