EHS Advisor (Immingham)
Jenkins & Davies Engineering are a mechanical engineering company working across the UK and Ireland providing steelwork and pipework fabrication, assembly and mechanical engineering services for the energy and utilities sectors.
Established in Pembrokeshire, West Wales our business has endured over six decades, continuing to be successful and consistent in supporting the energy and utilities industries throughout the UK and Ireland.
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Health & Safety Advisor to join our successful and busy Immingham team, supporting local operations across the Humber Bank region and at various projects throughout the UK.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting the Area Manager and project managers to ensure that all staff and subcontractors are working within legislation and in alignment with company health, safety and environmental policies, procedures and risk assessments.
- Ensuring that scheduled requirements of the company safety management system are completed at the Immingham office and workshops.
- Conducting EHS audits, inspections, permit audits and toolbox talks at projects undertaken on client sites locally and project locations across the UK.
- Liaising with managers and the EHS team to identify and coordinate project training requirements.
- Leading incidents investigations and reporting findings to the EHS Manager, Area Manager and client.
- Preparing project specific risk assessments, COSHH assessments and method statements.
- Arranging and carrying out company inductions for new employees.
- Working with the company EHS team to advise on EHS matters throughout the business.
- Applicants are expected to have knowledge and proven ability in confidently delivering health, safety and environmental compliance.
- Qualified to at least NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.
- A full UK driving licence is an essential requirement of this role.
- Experience of working in a mechanical engineering environment within the energy sector would be advantageous. Some mechanical QA/QC knowledge would also be beneficial.
- An internal auditing qualification and experience of the ISO standards is desirable but training can be given to the successful applicant.
Based at our Immingham office.
Starting salary circa £37,500 + overtime.
25 days annual holiday plus 8 bank holidays.
Ongoing training and support provided.
