The Company

Axon Moore are working with a well-established business based in Manchester city centre, in their search for an ambitious Assistant Management Accountant to join their team and fulfil their potential.

We are looking for graduates with 12 months post-grad experiencewho are keen to pursue their final ACCA/CIMA exams and develop within the business.


The Role

The primary responsibilities for the role are to ensure accuracy and completeness of the reporting requirements, whilst supporting the Group Management Accountant in the timely close of the month end process, to underpin the business in being able to continuallyoperate in what is a very dynamic and fast paced industry.


Salary and Benefits

Salary up to £28,000 DOE, bonus of up to £500 per annum, study support, hybrid working - 3 days in the office, flexible working hours (40 hour week), 21 days holiday plus banks, pension and free on-site parking.


Key Responsibilities and Duties:


  • Help prepare Group Management accounts at month end, ensuring close is delivered in a timely manner
  • Support the Group Management Accountant and Group Financial Controller in delivering a clean year end audit (Financial and ATOL) for both the group and subsidiaries
  • Scheduled reporting and analysis, including daily Gross Margin Reporting and weekly/monthly sales reporting against targets
  • Overheads analysis, ensuring costs are captured, variances to budget understood, and reports distributed to budget holders for review
  • Various balance sheet reconciliations to be completed on a monthly basis across all group companies
  • Deliver both scheduled reporting where required for various month end packs, and adhoc reporting and analysis as and when required by the business
  • Ensure adherence to month end timetable

Required Skills and Experience:


  • A graduate keen to study your final CIMA/ACCA exams. An Accountancy or numbers based degree would be ideal
  • Minimum 12 months experience within a similar role with exposure to Management Accounts
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills able to perform VLookup and Pivot table functions
  • Good analytical and excel skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Have a demonstrable energy, flexibility, proactivity and a "can do" attitude
  • Proven ability of working to a high standard while multitasking
  • Working accurately to deadlines
