Are you an Operations Manager with experience in Waste Management? Are you looking for a new position within a Chemical Manufacturing environment?


We are working alongside an established Facilities Management company based in Billingham looking to add an Operations Manager to its Services Team.

Within the role, you will oversee and coordinate waste management services for Hazardous and non

  • Hazardouswaste streams on two sites, ensuring all duty of care requirements are met.

Your duties within the position will consist of the following:

  • To provide direction, guidance, and support to all staff within the services detailed in the Service Level Agreement, to ensure they carry out their roles efficiently and effectively and comply with relevant legislative operating standards
  • To maintain a healthy, safe, and secure working environment in line with current legislation and company policies and procedures and ensure that all staff are trained and comply accordingly
  • Oversee the management and coordination of all waste management services and recycling waste streams
  • Attend Contract management meetings and represent the company's interests for each contract
  • Lead by example and support the site services manager to promote and acknowledge positive behaviours and develop a proactive safety culture
  • Develop and maintain positive internal and external relationships

To be considered for the position you must hold some, if not all, of the following skills/qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience in delivering a high-quality service to manage and safely dispose of chemical waste and recycling systems
  • Good understanding of UK Legislation (Health and Safety, Environmental and Transport)
  • Proven leadership skills to develop the existing FM team
  • Strong and friendly communication style
  • Excellent computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Word & Excel etc)
  • Must be selfmotivated, dedicated & able to use own initiative
  • Flexible approach along with the belief that 'everything is possible'
