We're working with a not for profit organisation that use data to combat key environmental issues such as over fishing, plastics and ciimate change to find a data analyst.
The NGO produces environmental research that can help accelerate the transition to a sustainable future but there is a lack of quality data and analysis to help them do so.
The Research, Engagement, and Data teams work together to ensure that the messageis heard by the right people and organisations.
All their work is publicly available and has informed investment policies, strategies, and decision-making for the better and now they are ready to hire into the Data and Modelling team to help scale the work so that threy can deliver higher quality outputsto more people.
The role will form part of the Data and Modelling team to support work across a variety of research programmes.
It is a full-time position, and the applicant can work from home in Europe or choose to work from the London office.
The main responsibility will be to optimise how they manage data in our Snowflake database and support the development and deployment of environmental and financial models in conjunction with other teams.
The Data and Modelling team operates with quite a flat structure, and therefore job progression isn't measured in terms of your job title.
Rather, they provide the time for employees to upskill by learning a vast array of languages, data tools, and by workingdaily with environmental and financial professionals.
There is freedom to express yourself and propose ideas for work that contributes to funders' goals, such as reducing deforestation, illegal fishing, and the use of toxic chemicals.
You will work with professionals that have managed and built teams withinthe finance industry and work with a network of funders that have similar backgrounds.
The work is constantly varied, challenging, but most of all, is making an impact in the real world.The types of skills and experiences that we are looking for include:
- Education: A university degree and/or Masters in a relevant field.
- Technical: Excellent knowledge and use of SQL. Snowflake experience is an advantage.
The applicant must be a competent user of Microsoft Excel.
- Sectors: It would be advantageous to have conducted prior research in one or more fields
finance.
