Newquay Foodbank is looking for a Graphic Designer to join our growing Communications Team.

This is a key role for the Foodbank in creating content to help promote Newquay Foodbank across online and print.

Newquay Foodbank was founded in 2011 by the community and we work to distribute emergency food and essential items to people in Newquay, and surrounding areas, who are facing a financial crisis.

We are a volunteer led organisation and rely on the skills that people from outside our organisation can bring.

By volunteering as a Graphic Designer, you will be responsible for creating content to help promote Newquay Foodbank, all while making a real difference to people's lives providing vital help and support at a time when they need it most.


What will you be doing?

  • Creating publicity and marketing materials to support Foodbank events and activities
  • Supporting the creation of visual content for Newquay Foodbank social media accounts
  • Developing, alongside the Communications Lead, and overseeing brand guidelines for Newquay Foodbank

The skills you need:


  • Graphic design experience
  • Good IT skills, including graphic design software such as Photoshop or Canva
  • Ability to listen and engage with people from a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences
  • Ability to get on with others and be part of a team as well as completing tasks independently
  • A willingness to learn about our organisation and our place within the Trussell Trust and align to our campaigns
  • Access to graphic design software
  • Organised and able to complete tasks accurately with good attention to detail

By volunteering with Newquay Foodbank, we will ask you to:

  • Treat all foodbank users with dignity and respect, whilst maintaining confidentiality as set out in our Confidentiality Agreement
  • Read and abide by the Newquay Foodbank's Policies and Procedures, including agreeing to and attending any training required to undertake your role
  • Meet time and other commitments as agreed
Newquay Foodbank is a member of the Trussell Trust and is a registered Charity (Charity No which supports individuals or families who find themselves in food poverty.
