You'll be bringing your experience and knowledge to our robust art department working on exciting projects.

This is a permanent role based onsite in our Cornwall Studio (working 2 days a week from home optionally).


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be the point person, key advocate and voice for technical art.
  • Manage, support, mentor and develop, your team.
  • Work close with the Art Director to find solutions for imaginations.
  • Contribute to the studio's internal dialogues on various discipline issues and giving feedback and suggestions to other colleagues on their work.
  • Act as the key driver and agent of change to improve processes and workflows etc for your department
  • Work close with other colleagues and contribute to their development / help with mentoring.
  • Identify and manage risks within the schedule with Production.
  • Gather, process and appropriately implement feedback from internal and external playtesting
  • Create technical specifications for briefing and keep an eye on technical control of internal as well as external team.
  • Work with both current budgets and support in the creation of future budgets using your knowledge and experience.
  • You'll act as the bridge between art and technical groups.

REQUIREMENTS:


  • Experience leading and supporting other colleagues in a Senior or Lead role
  • At least one shipped PC/console title as a Technical Artist.
  • Ability to coordinate tasks and follow up processes
  • Outstanding passion for games
  • Excellent communication skills and organisational abilities
  • Possess a calm, methodical and logical approach to challenges, ambiguity with an analytical approach to problem solving.
  • 3+ year experience using Unreal Engine or equivalent engines.
  • Experience creating VFX and PFX
  • Experience with optimizing particle effects in game environments
  • Understanding of runtime shader languages such as HLSL or GLSL
  • Experience in Python and the use of PyQt/PySide
  • Skills to communicate material and rendering features to the art and design teams.
  • Ability to translate requests into usable materials and PostFX.

BENEFICIAL SKILLS

  • Experience with Quixel suite / Substance suite
  • Experience with Speedtree
  • Experience with Houdini or other realtime particle system
  • Experience in cinematic production
  • Passion for First Person Shooters
