Description
Can you design and deliver ongoing operational training and development for our Police Officers and staff, on topics such as first aid, conflict management and personal safety?

Do you have significant experience in training delivery to adult learners, preferably within a police or law enforcement setting?


If so, come and join our team as an Operations Trainer on a full time, 2 year Fixed Term basis.


Our key purpose here at Derbyshire Constabulary is 'Making Derbyshire Safer Together'; as an Operational Trainer you will provide our Police Officers and staff with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively protect themselves and others, helping us to keep Derbyshire as one of the safest places to live and work in England.


Working as part of a team of trainers, you will be responsible for the administration and delivery of operational training for Police Officers, PCSOs, Specials and Custody Detention Officers, using a range of methods, both in and out of the classroom.

This will include the delivery of all Officer Safety and First Aid Training in line with relevant training curriculum, Manuals of Guidance, National and Force policy, in addition to other courses and events relevant to policing, as required.


You will be responsible for identifying learning needs, ensuring that the appropriate delivery methods and materials are used and that training objectives can be achieved.

You will deliver training courses, workshops, seminars and learning support centres to diverse audiences, ensuring that you use the appropriate communication style to suit and then evaluate and validate the overall training effectiveness.


In addition to the delivery of training, you will also provide specialist advice and knowledge to colleagues, partners and other individuals and agencies to support the achievement of organisational objectives and enable compliance with policy.


You will already have proven experience in a direct training delivery role to groups of adult learners and will be able to complete assessments and relevant development plans.

Knowledge or experience in law enforcement or working within the police service would also be an advantage.

Interview dates 2nd - 3rd February 2023

If shortlisted applicants will be required to undergo a job-related fitness test, to level 5.4.

Full Driving Licence and access to transport to travel to different locations for training purposes will be required.
