Description
This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside our people and families using our inpatient services. LPFT is recruiting the first of its kind in an Every Voice Guardian (patient & carers) position.

This role has been developed with and named by some of our current patients and is the direct source and link for patients to have their voice heard, being the forefront of communication.

This role will provide a personal outlook for patients to connect and open up opportunities to allow them to share their experience and for the organisation to hear, act and learn.

It will give a chance to those who may have gone unheard to be heard.

It is about picking up on the challenges but also sharing the good practice and promoting independence and values led care.

The recruitment process will involve 2 interviews, the first will be led by patients on 24/10/2023 in the morning and the 2ndstage will be on 27/11/2023 in the afternoon.

We are all people, and this role is about demonstrating the reality of Mental Health to people.

At LPFT we are proud of what we do and we want to share this with motivated and compassionate people who want to work together with us as a team.

This role will be supported and guided by the Every Voice Group which is a patient led group (staff attend as guests) supporting inpatient wards in improvement activities and innovation.

This is true partnership working with patients and the post holder will be expected to work with the Every Voice Group to test new approaches to hear (and act on) the voice of patients and carers.

The role will be line managed by the Trust Freedom to Speak Up Guardian and have a direct line into the Executive Director of Nursing and Quality.

The person needs to:

Truly value the patient voice

Welcome the opportunity to make a difference within our wards and the wider community

Be compassionate, non judgemental, passionate about providing least restrictive safe patient care.

Innovative, thinking of what can be changed where possible and adopt an Ask Listen Do approach

Have experience in Safeguarding processes

Be able to undertake PMVA and Observation training (able to be on the wards independently).

Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust provides mental health services and a number of learning disability, autism and social care services in the county of Lincolnshire.

Employing around 2,800 staff, and serving a population of over 766,000, our people lie at the heart of everything we do.

You could be part of a Trust rated by staff as one of the best mental health and learning disability trusts in England.

We firmly believe the key to high quality care is a contented workforce. This is reflected in our Care Quality Commission rating of 'outstanding' for well-led and 'good' overall.

In the most recent National NHS Staff Survey, our staff rated us as the number one trust nationally for staff morale and one of the top scoring NHS Trusts in the Midlands for being compassionate and inclusive.

We're really proud of this

We offer options for flexible working and provide a wide range of training and promotion opportunities in all professions.

We support and celebrate diversity, have active staff networks groups and are always looking at what more we can do to support our staff.

Identify how best to engage and then develop processes to increase the opportunities to hear the Patient and Carer voice in the Trust and challenging existing ways of working.

Think differently and test new approaches, ensuring that impact is measured and shared within the Trust and NHS England.

Ensure there is information available to help patients and carers be aware of the role and how to contact them.
