Job - Junior Estimator
Location - Newmarket

Our client is a growing Modular Company who are recruiting an exciting new position of Junior Estimator based at our centre at Newmarket.

This is a new role supporting our estimating Team and reporting to our estimating manager and Assist to develop and evolvesupply chain to serve the different market sectors for the relevant projects to become a market leader in the modular off-site industry.

Job Description:


  • Support estimating team in a collation of estimates and contractors' proposals
  • Undertake take offs, quantities to provide detailed cost proposals
  • Assist in estimating administrative activities
  • Reporting to the Estimating Manager
  • Hours of work: 8:30 17:00 Mon
  • Thurs.
08:30 - 16:30 Fri.

  • Salary of up to £25,000
  • Permanent Role

Responsibilities:


  • Accurate calculation of quantities and prices where required
  • Direct liaison with both clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Ability to interact and work closely alongside the wider preconstruction team to fully understand scheme requirements and info needed to inform price
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Create enquiry packages including detailed scope of works and attendances to meet the clients brief, issue and engage with supply chain and manage the prompt return of information.
  • Assist to develop and evolve supply chain to serve the different market sectors
  • Maintain accurate records and electronic data
  • Have excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Assist project estimation lead to provide assistance as and when required
  • AD HOC duties as and when required

Experience:


  • Highly numerate with a some understanding of current construction rates
  • Ability to work under own initiative and as part of a wider team
  • Basic understanding of construction drawings, schedules, room data sheets, NBS documents & BQ documents
