Maintenance Rigger 1/4 Rota - Aberdeen, United Kingdom - Sparrows Group
Description
Main responsibilities
- The incumbent is required to work offshore as a maintenance rigger on a 1/4 rota.
- Whilst offshore, the incumbent will be required to carry out rigging duties at client's request and therefore would be expected to liaise directly with the Sparrows LCP and platform personnel.
- The incumbent will be required to support the platform with all the mechanical handling activities as instructed by the LCP or platform authority/personnel.
- Duties involve the administration and managing of the Company records and systems including Risk Assessments, lifting plans etc as required.
- Establish and maintain effective communication with platform representatives to ensure an efficient service is provided on an ongoing basis.
- Liaise daily with the LCP to advise them of status of ongoing work, highlighting any possible problems / concerns.
- Liaise on Company / personal matters with the Operations & Maintenance Engineer
- Ensure planned mechanical handling programmes are carried out as instructed by the LCP and platform authority.
- Participate in platform risk assessment process to ensure that all lifting activities are thoroughly reviewed, and risks controlled prior to implementation.
- It is the responsibility of the incumbent to fully familiarise themselves with all installation Safety and Emergency Procedures.
- Ability required to set up rigging equipment and ensuring that the equipment is ready for operation before use.
- Ability required to highlight any new, current, or changed operating features of the equipment.
- Ability to comply with the safe working practices.
- A proactive approach to delivering a bestinclass service to Sparrows clients.
- Good communications skills in assuring clients of Sparrows right firsttime ethos and professionalism
- Be able to read technical drawings/lift plans and converse on a technical level with onshore support.
- Be computer literate to interface with / update clients maintenance management system as may be required.
- The incumbent must be able to manage rigging lofts and have all the necessary competencies/training required.
