Warehouse Materials Coordinator - Bootle, Liverpool

£30,000 - £32,000 p/annum, Monday to Friday days (37.5 hours per week)


About the role

Reporting to the Warehouse and Despatch Manager, you will lead the goods-in/ material handling team to support manufacturing and despatch operations in ensuring that the daily and weekly shipping plan is achieved through the most effective use of resources and ensuring adherence to correct process and standards.

Duties to include

  • Manage the safe and accurate receipt of all inbound raw materials
  • Ensuring stock rotation is adhered to
  • Ensuring the business SHEQ standards are adhered to individually and by your team of operatives
  • Drive continuous improvement within the area, with emphasis on Visual management, 6s and lean initiatives
  • Ensuring high levels of housekeeping at all times
  • Liaising with materials, manufacturing, and planning to ensure delivery schedules and targets can be achieved, assessing, and escalating any impacts accordingly.
  • Ensuring accurate stock takes are captured and all investigations are carried out
  • Ensuring the site waste streams are always maintained.
  • Providing management support to the warehouse and Despatch manager as required
  • Liaising with third party fleet provider, regarding lease and servicing
  • Complete annual training requirements and development reviews for your team
  • Processing returns in a timely manner to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Assist the material handlers with delivery discrepancies/ non conformity ( NCR )

About you

  • Previous experience of working in a fastpaced warehouse, as a supervisor, team leader or coordinator
  • Experience of working in a Chemical manufacturing environment would be beneficial, working with fluids would be advantageous
  • Understanding of 6s, lean initiatives, modern manufacturing methods
  • You will have great people management skills, with the ability to engage, coach and motivate people
  • You will be an effective communicator, and comfortable communicating with people at all levels
  • You will have the ability to multitask difficult situations, have the ability to be creative in solving problems
  • Must have excellent IT skills, with a knowledge of Microsoft office, ERP and WMS
  • Must be flexible and able to react to unexpected tasks.
  • Must be SHEQ focused and have good understanding of Health and Safety
  • You must be organised with good attention to detail, with a cando attitude.
  • Visible desire to deliver exceptional results
