Up to £45,000 (depending on level of experience) with the option of shares

Hybrid with the office based in South Wales

Haelu specialises in software development for health and social care and works together with partners such as market-leading Canadian software provider Cliniconex, with whom they deliver a range of communication solutions to health and social care providers in the UK.

This year, Haelu has begun development on a completely new innovation, co-creating it together with a Welsh Health Board, which they are excited to pilot and launch in 2023.

We have an exciting opportunity for a permanent, full-time CTO to join our team. This position is well-suited for an ambitious, hardworking person who has experience leading early-stage software development.

In this role, you will report to and work alongside the CEO as well as lead our software development team.

You will provide direction to the development team, supporting them through code reviews and daily standups, ensuring the constant progress of our own solution.

Responsibilities:

Overseeing development and managing our development team, including discussing the quality of completed assignments with employees
Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats
Reporting on the company's technological status, goals and progress
Work closely with the business and product teams.

Day-to-day:

Attending daily standup meetings, and running weekly sprint planning meetings.
Providing direction and support to the software development team.
Coding, testing, debugging and writing documentation.
Planning the next steps in terms of roadmaps and timelines.

Essential Requirements:

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science or similar, or equivalent level of knowledge and experience.
A strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience with Agile tools, eg. Jira
Experience with Laravel, PHP, Python, SQL, , HTML5, CSS3 or similar languages.
Experience with software deployment and AWS
Strong leadership/managerial experience and excellent organisational skills to effectively steer and coordinate our company's technological efforts and developments
Knowledge of technological processes and data security practices in line with relevant laws and regulations, including GDPR.

Data science knowledge including statistical analysis
