Kickstart your career in brand and communications


We've got a fantastic opportunity for a university student to join RSM's brand and communications team as part of our 12-month student placement programme.

What you are looking for


With a passion for brands and digital content, you have the drive and energy to support RSM make a difference in a highly competitive marketplace.


As a business, communications or creative student, you want to grow your understanding of the role brand and communications plays in the development of a firm.


You are looking to gain experience across the core communications disciplines, from PR to website management, branding to search engine optimisation, social media engagement to script writing.

You want to help shape presence in the digital space, amplifying the firm's story on projects and campaigns, collaborating on ideas and initiatives, and acting as a champion for the RSM brand.

With your strong desire to understand the bigger picture and the confidence to ask questions, you are looking for experience helping to tell the brand story.


What can you expect?


You'll be in the thick of it from day one because our brand and communications team is at the heart of everything RSM does.

Our well-respected inhouse team is made up of people from a wide variety of backgrounds who bring insight and knowledge to our crucially important communications strategy.

Reporting into our Head of Brand, you will coordinate our day-to-day activity and get invaluable hands-on experience working closely with experienced team members across digital, PR, brand, and internal communications, supporting a wide variety of stakeholders and accessing internal training courses that will help you develop in the role.


From regular sector updates and insights to campaigns and events, engaging with internal teams and our external agency partners, this role will support us to connect with people on economic issues, in the moment policy announcements and key industry headlines, and share #LifeAtRSM.


Placement plan example:

You will have an opportunity to build your skills and knowledge across:

Brand - attracting talent, sponsorship, merchandise, brand guidelines and presentation templates.


Content - thought and blog pieces, campaigns, and guidance to the wider business.


Podcast and video - writing scripts and generating YouTube engagement.


Social media:

- social media best practice, building online communities and paid activity.


Internal communications - internal campaigns, intranet content and community hubs.


PR - external campaigns, engagement, drafting content and press rel
