Purpose:
As a valued member of our maintenance team, the Minibus Driver/Maintenance Team Member will have several key responsibilities. They will perform daily checks to ensure the minibuses are operational, clean, and ready for use. This includes collecting pupils along an assigned route and safely returning them to school.
Additionally, they will perform general maintenance and caretaking duties to keep the site well-maintained and orderly and prepare it as needed for school activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct school minibus driving tasks for a duration of two hours daily during term time.
- Execute versatile repair and maintenance tasks, both responsive and planned, as required.
- Ensure optimal stock levels of small task resources/materials in the maintenance barn.
- Conduct regular inspections and monitor the condition of all buildings and assets, promptly reporting any issues to the Director of Operations.
- Assist in implementing fire safety and health and safety procedures and policies, including checks and testing.
- Undertake swimming pool water testing (after training) and perform other pool maintenance work as necessary.
- Assist in the management of the school's heating and alarm systems.
- Conduct routine equipment and vehicle checks and preventive maintenance, reporting issues promptly to minimise replacements.
- Responsible for the presentation, cleanliness, and safety of all external areas.
- Monitor and escort outside contracting staff to ensure compliance with school policies and procedures.
- Attend department training sessions and/or meetings as required.
Person Specification:
- Must have held a manual D1 driving licence for at least two years (essential)
- Must be over the age of 21, to meet insurance requirements (essential)
- Possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in a maintenance support environment.
- Demonstrate competency in various building crafts such as joinery, plumbing, painting, and general repairs.
- Exhibit dedication, reliability, politeness, and a friendly demeanour, taking pride in your work and the school's overall appearance.
- Be proactive, trustworthy, flexible, and capable of collaborative teamwork.
- Ability to work in a manner that prioritises the safety and wellbeing of children and staff.
Working Hours
- This is a fulltime position requiring 40 hours of work per week, yearround, Monday through Friday.
- The working hours will generally be between 07:00 am and 16:00 pm.
- The post holder will also be expected to participate in emergency callout arrangements and may need to attend school events, with overtime compensation.
Salary:
From £23,800.00 per year
