Description

Administration Assistant.

Preston, PR2 (North Preston).

Office based - No WFH option.

Ample free on-site parking.

Part time - Min. 16hrs per week. (This can increase with workload)

£NMW (Subject to performance reviews & prior experience).
Ashton TV is an independent, family run, electrical and white goods retailer based in Preston, Lancashire.

We have helped thousands of people within the northwest for almost 40 years with all their electrical and appliance needs.

Whether that be simply the rental of a washing machine or purchase of higher value electricals over a period time.


We are a small, friendly team but with recent growth within the business, we now require an additional member of office to assist with day-to-day tasks.

Initially on a part-time basis, this may grow into a more full-time position, in line with the natural growth of the business and workload.

This is an opportunity to become a vital member of a great team in a growing business with a bright future.

There is also opportunity for future development.


Key Roles;

  • Provide a friendly and professional service in line with the needs of our customer and the business.
  • Support line managers/ colleagues with general administrative tasks.
  • Assist with account payments and retry of failed accounts.
  • Identify accounts with a pattern of default and escalate proceedings to court.
  • Assist and deal appropriately with customer calls.
  • Organise repair calls for rental appliances as and when calls are taken.
  • Assist/ support Accounts Manager(s) in tasks deemed suitable by them that assist their role and the overall goals of the business.

Skills required;


Proficient level of both written and verbal English is required to ensure a high quality of communication with both internal and external partners/ customers.

Good communication skills.

Ability to work both independently and within a team.

Knowledge of Retail/ Electrical Retail/ Household Appliances is preferred but by no means essential.


Full Training will be provided for all aspects of the role and will be led by established members of staff.

Experience with computer programmes is desired, particularly Excel and Word.

Whilst experience in this sector is preferred it is not an essential requirement however, communication skills and initiative are.

Upon a successful interview, a 3 month trial period will commence with full employment to be offered upon satisfactory completion of this trial.

Initially on a part-time basis, this may grow into a more full-time position, in line with the natural growth of the business and workload.

  • Provide a friendly and professional delivery and installation service.
  • Support line managers/ colleagues with general tasks.
  • Assist with refurbishment of white and brown goods.
  • Assist with delivery of electrical/ white goods.
  • Provide a professional and competent delivery service with tutorial of new products.
  • Assist with customer queries whilst out on jobs.
  • Organise repair calls for rental appliances as and when calls are taken.
  • Assist/ support Engineers in tasks deemed suitable by them that assist their role and the overall goals of the business.

Skills required;


Proficient level of both written and verbal English is required to ensure a high quality of communication with both internal and external partners/ customers.

Good communication skills.

Sound knowledge of computer use is preferred but not essential.


Full Training will be provided for all aspects of the role and will be led by established members of staff.


Knowledge of electrical/ white goods retail is preferred, not essential however, this would assist in your position a great deal due to the type of questions posed by customers on the delivery of their items.

Whilst experience is preferred it is not an essential requirement however, communication skills and initiative are.
