    Description
The On-Call Caregiver Role at Guardian Angel Senior Services

    Job Summary
The on-call caregiver is a seasoned, experienced caregiver for senior citizens. Holding HHA or CNA certification is desirable; however, a strong work history with elderly clients will be seriously considered if the applicant lacks certification.

    Key Responsibilities
Assist clients in their own homes with activities of daily living, boosting their spirits and significantly improving their quality of life by delivering quality and safe home health care services. Accept responsibility for one's actions, including:
    1. Being available on-call during specific hours and days.
    2. Receiving a stipend for being on-call, in addition to an hourly wage for any hours worked with clients.
    3. Responding to phone calls within 15 minutes during the on-call period. This may involve receiving calls at any time prior to or during the on-call shift.
    4. Leaving to see a client within 30 minutes of receiving a call from the on-call supervisor.
    5. Accepting all assignments given during the on-call period, regardless of location.
    6. Providing necessary information on one's health status and experience.
    7. Reviewing client care plans prior to providing care.
    8. Maintaining reliable transportation to see any clients needing service during the on-call period.
    9. Communicating with the agency about problems and concerns.
    10. Completing required documentation accurately and on a timely basis.
    11. Maintaining client confidentiality at all times.
    12. Reporting concerns of client abuse or neglect.
    13. Refraining from discussing personal problems, concerns, or opinions with clients or their representatives.

    Requirements
Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards, respectful and compassionate demeanor, good time management skills, outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, strong ethics, reliable transportation, and a high school diploma or equivalent are essential. The on-call caregiver must also possess skills such as assisting clients with ambulation and mobility, personal care and hygiene, meal planning and preparation, shopping errands, light housekeeping duties, and reporting unusual incidents. Additionally, they must be able to act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergencies.

    Benefits
Guardian Angel Senior Services offers a range of benefits, including 401(k), 401(k) matching, employee discount, flexible schedule, medical/Aflac insurance (for those working over 30 hours per week), life insurance, paid time off, professional development assistance, and a referral program. Supplemental pay types include bonus pay, a $250 signing bonus, and merit program opportunities with the chance to earn raises every two weeks.
