Frontline Recruitment Weymouth are seeking a
Production Supervisor to join our client in Dorchester.

As supervisor you will be responsible for areas of production or stores and leading the teams within them.


To ensure the area is kept to a high standard and the teams working within it are working correctly to the company's standard operating procedures (SOP's).

Ensuring the safe production, storage, receipt and despatch of product within internal and external specifications and within critical control points (CCP's).

Responsible for delivering and improving area KPI's and reporting to other departments. To help drive continuous improvements through team meetings and one to one communication within the teams.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Able to lead teams within specific areas to ensure production targets are met and KPI's are recorded and reported accurately to areas within the business that need feedback or data.
  • Using KPI information to drive continuous improvements in the area of responsibility to help teams work with better efficiency allowing them to reach the desired targets and help with business growth
  • Continuously monitoring the area of responsibility to ensure it is safe for the personnel and for the product being produced, stored or transported. Any issues need to be reported in a timely manner to enable root causes to be identified and resolved.
  • Manage team numbers to ensure correct levels of personnel are applied to each line or area. Manage leave requests and the requirement of holiday cover and manage absence using HR policies.
  • Responsible for the H&S of the team including nearmiss reporting and safety culture
  • Working with Quality team making sure line samples are being taken, CCP's are carried out correctly and documented consistently and report back to teams on any QA communication with reference to failed product, customer complaints or audit requirements.

Training/Qualifications:


Essential:

4 GCSE's (minimum of grade 4 or higher including Math's & English Literature, and English Language)

Knowledge and experience gained in operating within a food manufacturing environment.

People Management Training

Awareness of LEAN principles

Level 3 Food Hygiene


Desirable:

Advanced Management / Leadership training

Experience of leading teams in a food manufacturing environment


Skills/Aptitude:


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills using English business language
  • Proficient in the use of all working processes and equipment for areas of responsibility
  • Methodical and good attention to detail
  • Analyses and uses data to identify and resolve rootcauses of problems
  • Make timely decisions using available resources and sound judgement

RESPONSIBILITY:


Remuneration & Benefits
Rate of pay - £13.90 per hour (current rate of pay as of today).


Contractual Hours - 42.5hrs per week (Monday to Friday) from January to June and 45hrs per week (Monday to Friday) from July to December.


Holiday entitlement - 29 days per annum (including Public & Bank Holidays in England & Wales) rising to 30 days after 5 years continuous service as of 1st April and 31 days after 10 years continuous service as of 1st April.

Pension - 5% Employee/5% Employer contribution

Life Assurance - 2 x annual salary (after completion of 3 months service)

Bike to Work Scheme - Capped
