An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Macmillan Specialist Palliative and End of Life Care team at Northampton General Hospital as a Practice Educator.

As an integral part of a dedicated and innovative team, the post holder will lead on and deliver quality palliative and end of life care education across the trust.

This role includes clinical working within the specialist palliative care team as part of seven day service provision. Significant palliative care knowledge and skills will be required alongside extensive teaching and education experience.

The post holder will demonstrate a broad range of effective communication skills and have a clear passion for supporting learners and consequently enhancing delivery of quality palliative and end of life care.

As a member of the Trust's Specialist Palliative and End of Life Care Team, the post-holder will
be the Lead for Palliative and End of Life care Education and Practice Development. They will
undertake a number of strategic and operational activities and have responsibility for the
development and implementation of a comprehensive trust wide education and training
programme to improve the quality of adult palliative and end of life care delivery.

Lead nurse /deputy lead nurse for specialist palliative and end of life care
Clinical lead for specialist palliative and end of life care
Specialist palliative care team, CNS's and nurses
Inpatient ward teams, sisters, matrons, medical staff, AHPs, housekeeping and domestic
staff
Mortuary team
Macmillan partnership lead / Macmillan information centre
Macmillan site specific CNSs, social workers and the acute oncology service
Non-malignant specialist teams (such as respiratory, heart failure, outreach, dementia)
Marie Curie discharge service
Pottering team
Bereavement team
PALS and complaints team
Pathway to Excellence team
Quality improvement team
