You will provide health and safety advice, support and guidance to key areas within Great Places, building strong working relationships with internal stakeholders by demonstrating specialist understanding and knowledge.

You will challenge existing ways of workingand will be the expert for advice and guidance to support the delivery of health and safety strategy and legislative compliance in your area.


What you'll be doing
Working as part of a team to provide a health and safety management service (advice, guidance, projects etc) for the organisation which will include:

  • Supporting the development of a strong Health and Safety focused culture across the project and promote good safety behaviours
  • Be an expert in Health and Safety legislation and best practice to assist with compliance and continuous improvement
  • Liaise with colleagues, subcontractors and suppliers on Health and Safety matters as required
  • Identify possible operational risks or opportunities to ensure an appropriate and effective response
  • Support the development of briefing and communication strategies to assist the delivery of the Health and Safety plan
  • Carry out regular site inspections and audits to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented and keep records of inspection findings.
  • Assist in the development of safety policies and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance and management of safety within the Group.
  • Carry out investigations into accidents, incidents and near misses to provide recommendations to prevent recurrence.
  • Lead on specialist projects including the management of hand arm vibration and noise, working at height, infection control, sharps management, ground maintenanceetc.
  • Carrying out different types of assessments and ensuring suitable control measures are in place to create and assist in minimising risk, training and overall service delivery.
  • To produce management reports, KPI's, newsletters and bulletins
  • Assist in the review of training matrices for Colleagues and develop and deliver training as required.

What you'll need:


  • NEBOSH National General Certificate, or equivalent
  • NEBOSH Diploma, or equivalent (or working towards)
  • Member of IOSH(Tech/Grad)
  • Experience of carrying out Internal and External Audits
  • Proven experience in a similar health and safety role
  • Experience in the delivery of Health and Safety training
  • Working knowledge of IT systems including Microsoft Office products
  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle for work.
  • Good written and verbal communication
  • Organisation skills and the ability to timemanage work load
