JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Operational Risk Associate to join our team. As the Operational Risk Associate, your role is crucial in enhancing the Operational Risk Management Framework within IFX.

You will be supporting Operational Risk Manager for overseeing policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and fostering a robust risk culture.

Your expertise will contribute to strengthening operational resilience and improving risk awareness throughout the organisation.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide regular reporting to the Operational Risk Manager as required.
  • Assist teams with comprehensive training on incident and risk management.
  • Assist in the businesswide risk assessments to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.
  • Proactively collaborate with operations and other frontline team to address control weaknesses and enhance compliance.
  • Champion effective risk and compliance policies through comprehensive reviews and QA of activities.
  • Work closely with the Operational Risk Management to translate risk appetite statements into actionable insights for frontline colleagues.
  • Assist in implementation of robust controls to manage operational risk and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Contribute to maintaining accurate and uptodate Risk Register and Incident/ Risk Event Master Log.
  • Drive vigilance by keeping the reporting log current, investigating incidents and events, and assisting with reporting to Head of Regulatory Compliance.
  • Support the team through the implementation of an ongoing Operational Resilience program, ensuring compliance with all applicable rules and regulatory expectations.
  • Assist in the monitoring and reporting of operational resilience metrics and key performance indicators to management and regulatory authorities.
  • Stay informed about regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and emerging trends in operational risk management. Implement necessary changes to align with evolving standards.
  • Support the development and implementation of a comprehensive internal controls framework to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Produce and distribute monthly and quarterly risk reports and key performance indicators to the management team.
  • Support the identification and management of operational incidents, including conducting root cause analysis, recommending corrective actions, and contributing to incident response plans.

COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in operational risk management within the financial industry, preferably within the fintech industry.
  • Working understanding of financial services regulatory environment (preferred if this is in the payments/emoney area) required.
  • Excellent written communication and verbal presentation skills.
  • A collaborative approach to working with others and committed to an inclusive environment.
  • Understanding of applicable laws and regulations, including Operational Resilience, and other relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Highly organised and detailoriented.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Selfstarter with high level of integrity and positive attitude.

ADDITIONAL INFO


We work on a hybrid basis with Monday and Friday from home and Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from our office in central London.

You must be eligible to work in the UK to be considered for this position.
