As our apprentice, you'll learn alongside our experienced team, developing a range of print and print finishing skills.
This apprenticeship through BPIF (the training Provider) will give you a great understanding of the large format print industry and will give you a foundation to start your career in print.
What will the apprentice be doing?
This apprenticeship will give you a great understanding of the large format print industry and will give you a foundation to start your career in print.
Once trained, the role will include:
- Being responsible for setting up and operating the wide format printers and heat presses
- Working within the print finishing team, assembling, fixing and packing orders for delivery
- Working with client services team and the design studio to ensure that client requirements are fully understood and met
- Ensuring client orders are completed within the required timescales
- Ensuring all products produced are produced to a high standard and quality and to the clients' specifications
Main responsibilities:
- Operating both wide format printers and presses
- Working to required timescales
- Perform the daily clean and maintenance on the wide format printers
- Complete samples and visual inspection of all samples prior to despatch
- Assist in stock control highlighting when stock is low
- Work with the team to rectify and resolve errors relating to printed products
- Perform all duties in line with Company Standards, Environmental Policy, Code of Conduct and Health and Safety Standards
- Provide cover for other team members during busy periods, absence and holidays
The role is an apprenticeship so training will be provided to enable you to carry out the above role and responsibilities.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will obtain a Level 2 Print Operative apprenticeship standard.
Training for both the apprenticeship and the relevant skills to succeed in the role will take place at the workplace, with no requirement to travel to the training provider, BPIF.
We have a fantastic meeting room space away from the Production floor to allow for off the job learning and on-line learning access.
