ROLE OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE
SHIFT PATTERN:
5 from 7 on a rotational basis, 45 hours per week
The Security Officer will ensure exemplary standards of Security and Customer Service are provided to the client and visitors to the estate at all times.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- To readily interact with all guests/tenants on the estate, delivering first class guest focused service.
- Ensure handovers are completed in the correct manner and following the correct rules
- Maintain your Security Officer notebook in accordance with PACE Act 198
- Carry out regular patrols of the estate as detailed in the site Assignment Instructions, being proactive always including external areas
- Ensure all incidents are recorded in the correct log book and your personal notebook
- Register for duty using the Bio Metric fingerprint reader/electronic devices
- Be professional, pleasant, friendly, courteous, and helpful always whilst carrying out duties to the highest standard.
- Security Officers must maintain absolute confidentiality at all times regarding company information and data used onsite
- To ensure exemplary standards in personal grooming, strictly adhering to the site uniform requirements and time keeping always ensuring you arrive with plenty of time before your shift starts N.B Full uniform must be worn at all times and when entering the Management Suite
- Work with the brand partners and colleagues to ensure training on the protocols surrounding IED's are understood and implemented as necessary
- Work together with your fellow Housekeeping colleagues informing them of any spillages, full bins or other situations that they may not be aware of
- Act as a guidance to guests on the recording of video on the estate which is prohibited without management permission
- Continuously look for opportunities to be of assistance to guests at the estate, proactively offering assistance wherever opportunities arise.
- To ensure that the estate is a safe and nonthreatening environment for all guests/tenants.
- Ensuring all incidents are managed in accordance with site policies and procedures.
- Liaising with estate control room proactively reacting to incidents and ensuring colleagues are always fully briefed and supported.
- Ensure any unsecure areas of the estate are reported to Control Room immediately and action taken to resolve. This includes any hotpots that are known
- Record/log all nonconformances and emergencies with the appropriate control room operatives.
- Deal efficiently and effectively with all emergencies ensuring the Centre team are always kept fully informed.
- Intelligent understanding of human behaviour, monitoring and surveillance of suspect individuals, logging, and reporting incidents in line with site/company polices.
- Maintain vigilance and highlight/manage unauthorised access by banned individuals.
- Provide assistance to third party contractors/visitors ensuring all estate procedures/policies are adhered to.
- To liaise closely with statutory authorities, dealing with incidents and the provision of information.
- Ensure radio procedures are always adhered to.
- Ensure all events/incidents are recorded in the SO notebook correctly and notebook policies are always adhered to.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as required to meet the needs of the business and as may be requested by your line manager.
- Ensure a timely response to all security issues and events.
- Complete all training requirements as requested by line manager.
- Be available to cover at least 1 additional shift per month if requested to cover absence/annual leave.
- Adhere to the correct lockup procedures as instructed by your line manager and fulfil the necessary reports in the control room
- Ensure all patrols are logged accordingly as per company guidelines
- Liaise closely with the other teams on site delivering one service and highlight opportunities in working as one team.
- Support the Supervisor in conducting regular audits as required.
- Be prepared to attend court if you are required to give evidence
- Access to the control room is only to be granted by your line manager and your operations manager
- Control room staff must possess a relevant SIA CCTV License

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- SIA Door Supervisor License
- SIA CCTV License an advantage
- First Aid trained an advantage
- Has a one team approach
- Able to take ownership of all situations to ensure tasks are completed.
