Description

Communication Be able to deliver presentations to a variety of audiences including front line staff, divisional, senior leaders & executives etc.

Ability to empathise with, motivate, and persuade teams not directly managed to different viewpoints in order to achieve positive outcomes.

Service Delivery and Improvement Support the development, implementation and governance of PFIS training, highlighting key measures/ KPIs of success.

Develop bespoke improvement offerings/activities as required, tailoring these offerings to suit site and team requirements and ensuring alignment to Trust mission, objectives and priorities.


Work closely with the Patient First Team Leader, take ownership of the on-going maturity of PFIS in all divisions, ensuring progress and sustainability and developing the PFIS maturity criteria ensuring that it represents current best practise.

Develop long-term plans and roadmaps to ensure the progression of maturity for all units from graduate level through to mastering level.

Facilitate collaborative working across the Trust, supporting capacity planning and development of long-term strategic plans for performance and service improvement.

Support the development, implementation and governance of the Trusts Gemba with Purpose plan, with particular focus on divisional & care group level Gemba with purpose plans to support new PFIS areas.


Assist clinical and operational leadership teams in building an engaged workforce that utilises all Trust staff to drive results towards organisational goals and continuous improvement.

Develop and deliver comprehensive reports to provide assurance of PFIS rollout, maturity and sustainability as well as quality of training as required.

People Management and Development Ensure the performance and contribution of individuals is maximised in line with the organisations aims through the promotion and management of appraisal and performance management processes.

Contribute to the development of the Kaizen Office pillar to ensure that it has the capability and resilience to provide training and coaching support in line with the agreed Capability roadmap and contribute to the personal development of the Patient First Improvement Practitioners.


Act as a mentor to other staff within the Strategy Deployment function to support development and enable knowledge sharing for the Patient First Improvement Practitioners.

Support national policy initiatives ensuring local action is adhered to in terms of being recognised as a model employer that has outstanding staff motivation and retention rates i.e.

Staff Satisfaction Survey; Equality and Diversity etc.

Support the promotion and development of inclusion, equal opportunities and diversity across the Trust in both employment and provision of services and develop opportunities to grow our own staff into continuous improvement practitioners.


Learning and Development Participate in coaching supervision with fellow coaches to ensure on-going development as a coach and to ensure adherence to the highest ethical and professional standards.

Achieve and demonstrate agreed standards of personal and professional development within agreed timescales.

Participate in the Trusts appraisal process to discuss how your role will help deliver the best possible care to our patients and help to deliver any changes in service.
