Apprentice Motor Vehicle Technician - Stephen James BMW
We are currently recruiting for a Motor Vehicle Technician Apprentice.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work with one of the world's most prestigious and technologically advanced car manufacturers.

All BMW Motor Vehicle Technician Apprentices attend the BMW Group Academy UK in Berkshire for their off-the-job training. This ensures consistent training throughout the UK and allows our apprentices to train on up-to-the-minute products and technology.
The training takes place over a 3-year period and takes the form of classroom and workshop sessions.

The course is unique to BMW with a special emphasis on electronics and cutting-edge technology; your training will include the opportunity to work on the latest:

  • Cars
  • Engines and BMW diagnostic equipment
  • Ultimately leading to the ability to undertake:
  • Maintenance
  • Service
  • Repair activities on vehicles to the highest standards once fully qualified
During the time spent at your Retailer, a mentor will be allocated to oversee the work-based learning programme.

A BMW representative will also visit on a 12 weekly basis to set performance targets and ensure any development needs are being met.

On successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will continue your development on the BMW Technical Programme.


Things to consider

  • Expected duration 3 years
  • Apprenticeship level: Advanced Level 3 (A level)
  • Successful applicants must be prepared to travel to the BMW Group Academy in Berkshire to complete their apprenticeship training
  • Training is completed in 1 week blocks approximately once every twothree month
  • All training costs are covered by the BMW Retailer (travel, accommodation, and food)
  • The Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage guide (ANMW): 23yrs and over is £9.50ph, 21yrs to 22yrs is £9.18ph 18yrs to 20yrs is £6.83ph, under 18yrs is £4.81ph
  • Total hours per week: 40.00

About Stephen James


All Motor Vehicle Technician, Aftersales Customer Service (Parts & Service) and Motorcycle Technician Apprentices will be employed by Stephen James BMW and will attend the BMW Group Academy for their training.

The BMW Group Academy is based at WokefieldPark near Reading in Berkshire.

  • IMI Level 2 Award in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle
  • IMI Accreditation Service Maintenance Technician
