HMP Forest Bank are currently recruiting a
_Visits Support Officer Tea Bar_ to ensure high standards of food, hygiene and service are maintained throughout and to prepare and serve refreshments to prisoners' visitors and families.

You'll be responsible for the management and control of the catering operation within the Tea Bar in our Visits Hall to the agreed specification and performance, qualitative and financial targets focusing on Employees & Prisoners.

HMP Forest Bank serves the courts of Greater Manchester and maintains strong links to the local community with a focus on resettlement.

We aim to deliver quality of life services and support people to change their lives for the better.

Opportunities for learning and developing work-ready skills are on offer for all who come into custody, but our commitment to reducing reoffending in local communities does not end at the prison gate.

We support people released from custody through innovative partnerships in substance misuse services in Bury and Oldham, working with people to maintain recovery and lead law-abiding lives.

As well as the 16 residential units on site, there is a healthcare centre, gym, library, workshop complex, visits hall, chaplaincy and kitchen.

The prison's capacity stands at 1,460, holding adult men both on remand or sentenced and young prisoners between the ages of 18-21 years.

Main Responsibilities

Operates and managed the onsite tea bar
Ensures the store is kept clean and organised
Keeping a record of sales and restocking the store accordingly
Must be organised and punctual
Ensuring all admin, documentation, logs and records are being completed daily.
To sell and prepare coffee & tea
To have a knowledge with the food preparation
To be responsible for receiving and receipting of all stock deliveries to the facilities.
To be qualified and proficient in food handling and the serving of food in the catering facilities
Responsible for facility security including opening and closing procedures and to perform duties honestly and have a keen awareness of security matters.
Support the operational staff who facilitate the wingbased serveries.
Prepare and serve refreshments
Handling cash
Carry out stock rotation and stocktakes regularly.
Ensure all Health and safety legislation is complied with,
Ensure the correct cleaning procedures are complied with.

Essential:

Proven ability to create and implement new ideas
Strong communication, organisation and timemanagement and people management skills
Have excellent customer service

Desirable:

Experience of working in a similar custodial environment
Level 2 food safety in catering
